Everyone is welcome to attend the 2026 edition of the SUPER Conference.

SUPER 2026: When and Where?

Date: Tuesday 14 April 2026, from 12:30 – 2:30 PM
Location:  The entire hallway of the second floor of the Science Building

All faculty, staff, and students are warmly invited to attend SUPER 2026, our annual showcase of undergraduate research in the Faculty of Science.

Join us to explore research ideas and opportunities and to support our student researchers as they share the results of their research. Science students from all areas of Science will be presenting posters from projects completed through Honours, Directed Studies, Undergraduate Research Experience Award Program (UREAP), and other research programs.

SUPER is designed to inspire early-year science students by highlighting what senior students have achieved. First, second, and third-year Science students are encouraged to come discover the many research opportunities available to them throughout their degree.

Information for presenters

To students presenting at the SUPER conference
Here are some suggestions on how to design your poster for the SUPER conference.

Poster dimensions
All poster sizes are accepted at the SUPER conference. However, each department may insist on particular poster dimensions for students in that department, so be sure to consult with your department representative before creating your poster. Generally, students are encouraged to design their posters to be 91.5 cm x 122 cm (=36 inches x 48 inches). In PowerPoint, click on “Design” (top horizontal menu), then select “Slide size”, and then select “Custom slide size”.

Poster orientation
Your poster may be designed in landscape or portrait orientation. Choose the orientation that you think allows the best layout of your research ‘story’.

Additional suggestions
Somewhere at the top of your poster, please include (prominently) your name, your supervisor’s name, and your affiliation (i.e., the name of your dept., and Thompson Rivers University, or at least the TRU logo). For TRU logos that you can use in your poster, you will find a variety of these at the following webpage: https://www.tru.ca/marcom/brandguide/logos.html.

It is also highly recommended to include a small photo (headshot) of yourself somewhere at the top of your poster, to make it easy for the audience to know who created the poster.
