Lane closure on College Drive near Indigenous Centre site – April 10, 15 and 16

Campus users in the Indigenous Centre and College Drive area are advised of upcoming construction activity associated with the Indigenous Centre project.

Backfilling on the west side of the Indigenous Centre building will require a temporary lane closure on College Drive on the following dates:

  • Friday, April 10
  • Wednesday, April 15
  • Friday, April 16

Please use caution in the area and follow any temporary traffic control in place.

Thank you for your patience.

Planned network maintenance April 11 on second floor of Old Main

IT Services will be performing scheduled network maintenance on the second floor of Old Main on Saturday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. During this time, there will be intermittent network disruptions in Old Main, including connectivity to Eduroam (TRU’s Wi-Fi network), wired internet, and some network-dependent services such as Moodle and email.

If you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Desk at itservicedesk@tru.ca.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while IT Services performs this work.

Occupancy sensors installed in some TRU buildings

TRU is installing privacy-focused occupancy sensors in several campus buildings to better understand how classrooms, study spaces and service areas are used throughout the day.

The sensors help the university plan and schedule spaces more effectively. They do not record audio or video and cannot identify individuals. The technology only produces anonymous estimates of how busy a space is.

Parking rate adjustment effective Sept. 1, 2026

Effective Sept. 1, 2026, parking rates at TRU will increase for daily, monthly, semester and yearly permits.

  • The adjustment reflects a 2.2 per cent increase based on the annual change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Moving forward, annual parking rate adjustments will be tied to the previous year’s CPI.
  • This adjustment supports parking lot maintenance and improvements, snow removal, sustainability initiatives and TRU’s financial health.
  • New rates will apply to all parking categories, including Visitor, Economy, General, Premium and Reserved parking.

We encourage students to review their parking needs in advance, especially before participating in the 2026/27 parking lottery which begins mid- to late April.

For full details on new rates and parking options, email parking@tru.ca or visit the Frequently Asked Questions web page.
