Safe Work Practices
Thompson Rivers University recognizes that safe work procedures or supplementary instructions are extremely important to ensure a safe work environment and form an essential part of the overall occupational health and safety program.
Our instructors will provide the information necessary to assist their students and those under their supervisor the in performing their tasks safely. They also assist in the training and orientation of students in work hazards, as well as providing them with the rules and procedures necessary to ensure that they can perform their work and study in a safe and hazard free manner.
For TRU staff members, your leadership (managers, supervisors, chairs, and/or deans) and RSS will provide you will the necessary information and resources to perform your job safely. Specific procedures can be found on the RSS OneTRU page under Safe Work Procedures. TRU instructors can use these resources for their teaching as well.
Contact safety@tru.ca if you have any questions or need resources on safe work procedures for yourelf, your staff, or your students.
