Kevin Spykerman

Kevin has been coaching the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot since 2024.

Kevin is Counsel with the Immigration Law Division of the Ontario Regional Office of the Department of Justice. Since his call to the bar in 2019, he has practiced exclusively as litigation counsel with the Department of Justice, and has appeared at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court, and Federal Court of Appeal. Kevin’s practice centers on Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship, and Constitutional Law.

Kevin enjoys providing mentorship and training. At the Department of Justice, he offers mentorship to articling students and new counsel, and he has delivered training to client officials in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada as well as the Canada Border Services Agency. Kevin is excited to return for his second year as the coach of the Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law, Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Law moot team.
