Accessibility

The Tournament Capital Centre is a wheelchair accessible venue. For those unable to sit in the general seating area in the bleachers, accessible floor seating will be provided. Please see an usher for assistance. Please note that the TCC does not have wheelchairs available for guest use.

Live captioning will be available during the ceremony.

There are designated accessible parking spots at the Tournament Capital Centre. TCC visitors displaying a valid disabled parking permit can park for free and do not need to register their licence plate. Those requiring parking for more than two hours can make arrangements with staff at the TCC front counter.

Parking

For economy parking, graduates and guests are encouraged to park in parking lot N. Enter campus via the West Gate and take University Drive to parking lot N, located behind the North Tower residence building. Parking in this lot is $5 for the day. There will be a shuttle service running from parking lot N to the Tournament Capital Centre and returning after the ceremony.

Other parking options closer to the TCC include lot S, M, W, T1 and T3. Parking in these lots is $6.50 for the day. Please note that the shuttle will not service these lots.

To pay for daily parking, scan the SMRTpass QR code located in the parking lot. Alternatively, you can pay online at smrtpass.net either before or after you arrive on campus on a computer or tablet, using these instructions:

  1. Enter Zone ID 1048 (General), or 1046 (Economy), or 1045 (Visitor).
  2. Enter License Plate and payment information.

If you do not have a smartphone, payment for parking can be made at the parking office located in the Campus Activity Centre. The parking office will accept credit cards, debit card and cash payments.

Ceremony duration

Ceremony duration may vary based on the number of graduates. Estimated ceremony duration is 2.5 hours.

Limited seating

Each graduate is allowed to bring four guests. Tickets are not required but seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Arrive early to ensure you're seated.

Live video

All convocation ceremonies are broadcast live online for those unable to attend.

  • Broadcasts normally begin five or 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
  • We list all times in Pacific Time.
  • Recordings of the live broadcast are available shortly after each ceremony.

Flowers and graduation memorabilia

The Commencement Group will be selling fresh flowers on-site at TCC during the ceremonies or you can per-order and pick up on the day. Pre-order here.

The Wolfie's Campus Bookstore Centre will also be on-site at TCC, offering frames and other graduation memorabilia. You can also shop for TRU souvenirs.
