Executive searches at TRU follow transparent procedures that include establishing a search committee and engaging stakeholders. Diversity and equity principles guide all recruitments.

Provost and Vice-President Academic Search: Current Updates

The search committee has completed its review of applications received so far. Candidates have been selected for short-list interviews. On-campus meetings with shortlisted candidates are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 2
  • Thursday, Dec. 4
  • Tuesday, Dec. 9

These meetings will take place under LOU #2 of the TRU–TRUFA Collective Agreement. Please anticipate that participation will require confidentiality, as candidate materials will be shared in confidence with those who take part.

TRU has engaged McDermott + Bull to support the search for our next Provost and Vice-President Academic. The successful candidate will guide TRU’s academic direction and support strong, inclusive leadership across the university.

Statement on Academic Freedom

Academic freedom is fundamental to teaching, learning and inquiry at a university. It permits scholars, and hence universities, to pursue and advance knowledge, which serves society. At TRU, academic freedom is protected and practised every day, guided by academia's principles and ethics, which are given concrete form in agreements between TRU and its faculty.
